Two things to do first. Deletion is permanent and there is no undo, so copy out anything you want to keep. And if you have a Quotify Premium subscription, cancel it in Google Play before deleting - removing the account does not stop the billing. See the Subscription Policy.
Account and Data Deletion
This page explains how to delete your Quotify account (app package
com.kovhan.quotify, developer LumaDay) together with the library stored
under it, exactly what is erased, and what stays behind.
How to delete your account in the app
- Open Quotify on your device.
- Open the Profile tab.
- Tap Edit profile.
- Scroll to the account section and tap Delete account.
- Confirm in the dialog that appears.
The app then erases your content from the cloud, removes the account itself, clears the local copy on the device and returns you to the sign-in screen.
Confirming your identity
Because deletion is irreversible, Firebase requires a recent sign-in before it will remove an account. If your session is older, Quotify asks you to confirm:
- with an email account - you re-enter your password on a confirmation screen;
- with a Google account - you pick your Google account again;
- as a guest - no confirmation is needed, the anonymous account is removed directly.
What gets deleted
From our cloud storage:
- every quote saved under your account, with its text, author, book, tags, folder and favorite state;
- every folder, tag, author and book record you created;
- every widget playlist;
- your profile document - display name, username, photo URL;
- your uploaded profile photo, removed from the image hosting service;
- the authentication account itself, together with your Firebase user ID and the linked email or Google identity.
From your device:
- the local database holding your library and the queue of unsynced changes;
- the cached profile - user ID, email, name, username, photo URL.
What may be retained
- Purchase and subscription records. Google keeps its own record of any purchase under Google Play policies, and we keep the minimum needed for accounting, tax and dispute handling.
- Feedback you submitted. Ratings and comments sent through the in-app feedback form are stored separately from your library and are not removed automatically. Ask us and we will delete them.
- AI usage counters. The per-month counters used to enforce AI limits may remain for a period as an anti-abuse measure. They record only how many requests were made.
- Crash and analytics data. Diagnostic records already collected by Firebase expire under Google's own retention windows and cannot be tied back to your library.
- Email correspondence. If you wrote to support, the message thread stays in the mailbox for as long as needed to handle the matter.
- Anything else where the law requires us to keep it.
How long it takes
Deletion started in the app happens immediately - by the time the app returns to the sign-in screen, the account and its content are gone. Backups and provider-side logs at Google, Cloudflare and Cloudinary age out on their own schedules, normally within 90 days.
Requests sent by email are handled within 30 days of us being able to verify who you are.
If you cannot access the app
Send a request to lumadaystudio@gmail.com with the subject Quotify account deletion request, and include:
- the app name: Quotify;
- the email address linked to your account;
- whether you signed in with email and password or with Google;
- your Firebase user ID, if you still have it.
Please write from the email address linked to the account - that is how we verify the request. If you used the app as a guest without ever signing in, the account exists only on that device: uninstalling the app or clearing its storage removes the local data, and the anonymous record has no way of being identified by us afterwards.
Deleting only part of your data
If you want to keep the account but remove certain content - a few quotes, a folder, a tag, your profile photo - you can do it yourself in the app. The Delete specific data page lists every path.
